• Director R. Sundarrajan cast Saritha and Manorama together in 'Yamirukka Bayamen' (1983) because he wanted two actresses who could switch between comedy and emotional drama in the same scene — neither had done a double-lead film before.
• In 'Iru Medhaigal' (1984), Saritha played the composed elder sister while Manorama played the impulsive younger one — but they swapped acting styles for the climax: Saritha improvised a breakdown scene, and Manorama matched her by staying completely silent, letting the camera hold on her face for 40 seconds.
