• Poove Unakkaga (1996) was the film that turned Vijay from a struggling actor into a bankable star. Singamuthu wrote the dialogues, and the film's success directly launched Vijay's rise in Tamil cinema.
• In Poove Unakkaga, the scene where Vijay's character says 'Naan oru thadavu sonna, nooru thadavu sonna madhiri' became a staple dialogue in Tamil pop culture. Singamuthu wrote that line, and fans still quote it at college events.
• Rajavin Parvaiyile (1995) was the first film where Singamuthu wrote dialogues for Vijay. It ran for over 100 days in theatres, a rare feat for a debut collaboration between a young hero and a new writer.
