• They first faced off in Yaar (1985) as rivals for the same woman. Neither was a star yet — the film was a low-budget gamble that barely registered at the box office. But director R. Sundarrajan saw something in their clash and cast them together again in Vettayadu Vilayadu (1989), this time as brothers.
• In Kuruthipunal (1995), Arjun played the righteous cop and Ravi played the cold-blooded terrorist. The tension worked because Arjun pushed for explosive, physical confrontations while Ravi insisted on long, silent stares. The director later said their opposing acting styles — Arjun's raw energy vs Ravi's stillness — created the film's real voltage.
• During the shoot of Kannodu Kanbathellam (1999), Ravi's father passed away. Arjun quietly took over his scenes for two days, shooting with a stand-in, so the production wouldn't shut down. Ravi never publicly thanked him — but he still calls Arjun every year on his father's death anniversary.
