• Ravichandran was a newcomer when director C.V. Sridhar cast him opposite Kanchana in 'Kaadhalikka Neramillai' (1964). Kanchana was already a star. She specifically asked for him after seeing his screen test — she felt he had the right 'urban' look for the role.
• In 'Adhey Kangal' (1967), Kanchana played a blind woman. Ravichandran deliberately slowed his dialogue delivery on set so she could react naturally with her eyes. He told the director: 'Let her lead the scene. I'll follow her blindness.' That film became a benchmark for how to play disability on screen.
• Their film 'Motor Sundaram Pillai' (1966) was one of the first Tamil comedies to use a car as a central prop. It directly inspired the 1970s trend of 'vehicle comedies' in Tamil cinema — including the later hit 'Ooty Varai Uravu'.
• Ravichandran and Kanchana never had a single reported fight on set across 8 films. But they also never socialised outside work. Kanchana once said in an interview: 'We were friends only inside the frame. Outside, we were strangers who respected each other's space.'
• Kanchana said about Ravichandran in a 1972 interview: 'He never tried to overshadow me. He let me be the storm. He was the calm that made the storm look good.'
• Their last film together, 'Engalukkum Kathal Varum' (1975), almost didn't happen. Ravichandran had shifted to character roles by then. Kanchana personally called the producer and said: 'If he's not the hero, I'm not doing it.' He was cast as the male lead one last time.
