• Vadivelu and Simran first shared screen space in Thamizh (2002) because the director, Rafi-Mecartin, specifically wanted a comedian who could match Simran's fast-talking energy. Vadivelu was brought in last minute after the original comedian dropped out.
• In Arasu (2003), Vadivelu's character was written as a bumbling sidekick, but he kept improvising lines that made Simran break character mid-scene. The director eventually let them riff freely, and the outtakes became a cult favorite among the crew.
• During the shoot of Ottran (2003), Vadivelu and Simran developed a running joke where they'd greet each other with exaggerated, over-the-top Tamil film dialogues from the 80s. The crew would time their entrances just to watch them do it.
• The success of their comic timing in Thamizh directly led to director Rafi-Mecartin casting them again in Arasu — making them one of the few actor-comedian pairs to get a back-to-back film deal in the early 2000s.
• Simran once said in a 2003 interview: 'Vadivelu doesn't just make you laugh — he makes you forget your lines because you're laughing so hard. I had to ask the director for retakes just because of him.'
