• Vadivelu was a struggling mimicry artist when Rambha recommended him to director K. S. Ravikumar for 'Sengottai' (1996). She had seen his stage act and told the team he'd be perfect for the comic sidekick role.
• In 'Kaathala Kaathala' (1998), Rambha would deliberately flub her lines during comic scenes to make Vadivelu improvise on the spot. He later said her fake mistakes pushed him to come up with his best one-liners.
• During the shoot of 'Raasi' (1997), Vadivelu and Rambha had a running bet: whoever laughed first during a scene had to buy the other a box of mangoes. Rambha lost every single time.
• Rambha once told a magazine: 'Vadivelu made me forget my lines because I was laughing so hard. He didn't just act — he attacked the scene.'
• The success of their pairing in 'Sengottai' (1996) directly led to director K. S. Ravikumar casting them again in 'Kaathala Kaathala' (1998). That film later inspired a wave of Tamil comedies where the heroine had equal comic timing with the male comedian.
