Partnership facts

• Napoleon was a newcomer when he signed 'Pangali' (1992). Vijayakumar, already a star, personally asked the director to cast him after seeing his screen test. That one phone call launched their partnership.
• In 'Kizhakku Cheemayile' (1993), Vijayakumar played the intense, brooding elder brother while Napoleon brought the comic relief. Napoleon later said Vijayakumar would deliberately stay in character between takes, forcing him to improvise his reactions on the spot.
• During the shoot of 'Maravan' (1993), the two actors shared a room in a small village lodge for three weeks. They would rehearse dialogues late into the night, often rewriting scenes together on hotel napkins.
