• Sivakumar and Jayasudha first faced the camera together in 'Sollathaan Ninaikkiren' (1973) because the director, S. P. Muthuraman, specifically wanted a fresh pair. He cast Sivakumar after his debut hit and paired him with Jayasudha, who was just breaking into Tamil cinema from Telugu. The gamble paid off — the film ran for over 100 days.
• In 'Pattikkaattu Raja' (1975), Sivakumar played a rustic village tough guy, while Jayasudha matched his intensity with a fiery, no-nonsense performance. Their scenes together crackled because she refused to play the demure village belle — she argued with the director to give her lines that pushed back at Sivakumar's character.
