• They first acted together in Annai Velankanni (1971), a devotional film. Sivakumar was already a star. Srividya was just 18 and making her Tamil debut. The director, K. Thangappan, paired them because he wanted a fresh face opposite a reliable hero — and that gamble worked.
• In Sollathaan Ninaikkiren (1973), their only romantic comedy together, Srividya’s comic timing pushed Sivakumar to loosen up. He was known for intense roles; she made him play lighter. The scene where she tricks him into a bet is still remembered by fans who grew up on that film.
• Off-screen, they were close friends but never romantically linked. Srividya once said in an interview that Sivakumar was like a protective elder brother on set. He would quietly check if she had eaten between shots, especially during the long outdoor shoots for Sri Krishna Leela (1977).

• After Ilayavan (2000), they never worked together again. But Srividya remained close to Sivakumar’s family. She would visit his home for Pongal well into the 2000s, long after both had stopped acting regularly.
