• Nassar was the one who pushed director R. K. Selvamani to cast Ranjith in Desiya Geetham (1998). Ranjith was a newcomer then, and Nassar saw something in him that the director initially missed.
• In Eazhaiyin Sirippil (2000), Nassar deliberately slowed down his own dialogue delivery to match Ranjith's raw, untrained energy. He later told a magazine that he wanted the audience to feel the gap in experience between their characters — not cover it up.
• During the shoot of Sudhandhiram (2000), Nassar and Ranjith shared a room in a small lodge near the set. Ranjith later said Nassar would rehearse his lines aloud at 5 AM, and that's how he learned to prepare for a scene.
• Ranjith once said in an interview: 'Nassar sir didn't treat me like a co-star. He treated me like a student he was responsible for. Every shot, he'd check if I was okay first.'
• Their third film together, Sudhandhiram (2000), was the first Tamil film to feature a then-unknown actor named Vijayakanth in a supporting role. He went on to become a major star — and both Nassar and Ranjith later said they barely noticed him on set.
