• Sripriya was already a big star when she agreed to star opposite Vijayakanth in Parvayin Marupakkam (1982). The director had to convince her that this newcomer could hold his own. She took a chance on him — and that film put Vijayakanth on the map as a romantic lead.
• In Kudumbam (1984), Sripriya played the emotional anchor while Vijayakanth played the hot-headed hero. She deliberately softened her performance to let his intensity stand out. He later admitted she taught him how to react silently in a scene — something he wasn't good at before.
• By the time they made Senthoora Poove (1988), their offscreen relationship had soured. Sripriya felt Vijayakanth had become too political and distant. They barely spoke during the shoot. That film flopped hard — and they never worked together again.
• Years later, Vijayakanth said in an interview: 'Sripriya akka was the reason I didn't look like a fool in my early films. She held my hand through every scene.' He said this at a public event honoring her comeback.
• The success of Parvayin Marupakkam directly led to Vijayakanth being cast in his first solo hit as a lead. Before that film, he was only getting villain roles. Sripriya's willingness to pair with him changed his entire career trajectory.
