- This was one of the few Tamil films where actor Arjun played a dual role, portraying both a righteous officer and a lookalike character.
- The movie's climax was shot extensively at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, a real cricket venue rarely used for film scenes.
- Composer Deva reused his own tune from the 1999 film 'Minsara Kanna' for a song here, which was uncommon for a big-star project.
- Despite being an action film, it included a subplot critiquing political corruption, a theme gaining traction in early 2000s Tamil cinema.
- Supporting actor Sharat Saxena, known for Hindi films, learned Tamil dialogues phonetically for his role as a villain.
