• Nassar was the one who suggested Anushka for the role of Devasena in Baahubali. He had worked with her before and told Rajamouli she had the regal intensity the part needed. Rajamouli wasn't sure initially — he thought she was too glamorous — but Nassar pushed for a screen test.
• In Soggade Chinni Nayana (2016), Nassar played a ghost who possesses Anushka's character. The comedy came from him mimicking her mannerisms — he studied her walk, her hand gestures, even her blink rate. Anushka said on set that watching a 60-year-old man do a perfect impression of her was the weirdest acting masterclass she ever got.
• Their pairing in Baahubali directly led to the casting of Anushka as the older Devasena in the sequel. Rajamouli had originally planned to use a different actress for the aged version. But after seeing how Nassar and Anushka built a father-daughter rhythm in the first film, he rewrote the second half to keep them together across the time jump.
• Nassar calls Anushka 'Amma' off-screen — a Telugu term of endearment for a younger woman, but also a running joke from Soggade Chinni Nayana where his character calls her that. She calls him 'Nassar sir' to this day. They text each other every birthday without fail, even when they have no films together.
• Nassar once said in an interview: 'Anushka is the only co-star who made me forget my lines. In Soggade Chinni Nayana, she would do a scene so well that I would just stand there watching her instead of delivering my dialogue. The director had to yell at me.'
