• Sathyaraj and Madhan Bob first shared screen space in Udan Pirappu (1993) because the director, R. Parthiepan, specifically wanted a comedian who could match Sathyaraj's deadpan intensity. Madhan Bob was a stage actor with zero film experience before this — Parthiepan took a gamble on him.
• In Azhagarsamy (1999), Sathyaraj played a loud, over-the-top village chieftain while Madhan Bob played his timid sidekick. Bob later said in an interview that Sathyaraj deliberately slowed down his dialogue delivery in every scene they shared — so Bob's nervous stammer would land as comedy, not awkwardness.
