• They met on the set of 'Hulchul' (1995), but Ajay almost didn't get the role. Director Milan Luthria wanted a different actor. Kajol's mother, Tanuja, who was also in the film, pushed for Ajay. That film flopped, but it started everything.
• On 'Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha' (1998), Kajol was the one who set the comic timing. Ajay, known for intense roles, admitted he learned to loosen up from watching her improvise. She'd throw in a line, and he'd react — that back-and-forth became the film's rhythm.

• In 'Taanaji' (2020), they played husband and wife for the first time in a period film. Ajay, as the warrior, did all the heavy action.
