• Kasthuri was the one who pushed for Sukanya to be cast in Senthamizh Paattu (1992). She told the director that Sukanya's energy would balance her own serious role. That film became their first together.
• In Udan Pirappu (1993), Kasthuri and Sukanya played sisters with opposite temperaments. Kasthuri set the emotional pace in dramatic scenes, while Sukanya improvised the lighter moments. The director said they didn't need retakes — they just fed off each other's timing.
• During the disastrous Rajapandi (1994) shoot, both actresses shared a room in a small town lodge. They spent nights rewriting their own dialogues because the script was so bad. Neither has ever publicly blamed the other for that film's failure.
• Their pairing in Indian (1996) was the only time both played characters who never shared a single scene together — yet their parallel storylines (one as the hero's wife, one as his sister) became the emotional backbone of the film.
