• Pran was 67 when he played Meenakshi's father in 'Maa Beti' (1987). She was 24. He reportedly told the director he'd only do the role if she agreed to take acting tips from him on set — she said yes.
• In 'Toofan' (1989), Pran's character dies saving Meenakshi's. That scene was shot in one take because Pran insisted on doing the fall himself — no stunt double. Meenakshi later said his intensity made her cry for real, and the director kept the take.
• After 'Bade Ghar Ki Beti' (1989) wrapped, Pran gifted Meenakshi a gold chain with a tiny 'B' pendant — for 'Beti' (daughter). She wore it in her next two films as a tribute. They never worked together again.
• Meenakshi once told a magazine: 'Pran saab would correct my Hindi diction between shots. He'd say, "Beta, tumhara 'r' thoda hard hai." I learned more from him in four films than in any acting class.'
