Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu is a 2009 Tamil-language sports drama film directed by Suseenthiran. The film stars Vishnu Vishal in his acting debut, alongside Kishore, Saranya Mohan, and Soori. The story follows a group of friends in a remote village near Palani who form a kabaddi team that has never won a match. They get an unexpected chance to compete in a state-level tournament after their district team forfeits. A disgraced coach named Savadamuthu takes them under his wing and trains them. The film was praised for its realistic portrayal of rural life and kabaddi. It became a box office success and was remade in Telugu and Hindi. The film was released on 29 January 2009.
