• Jagapathi Babu and J. D. Chakravarthy first came together for Money Money (1995) because director Siva Nageswara Rao wanted two fresh faces to play con artists. Neither was a star yet — the film launched both of them into the mainstream.
• In Homam (2008), Jagapathi Babu played the calm, calculating antagonist while Chakravarthy was the volatile hero. The tension worked because Chakravarthy’s raw energy pushed Jagapathi to dial down his usual theatrical style — making his stillness more menacing.
• Despite making four films together over 20 years, Jagapathi Babu and Chakravarthy never became close friends off-screen. They were strictly professional — no phone calls, no hangouts. Both have said in interviews that their bond existed only inside the frame.
