Partnership facts

• Jhansi was the one who pushed M. S. Narayana to take up the role in 'Sarada Saradaga' (2006). He was hesitant about the script, but she convinced him it would be a laugh riot. It became their first film together.
• In 'Maa Nanna Chiranjeevi' (2010), Narayana’s deadpan delivery set the rhythm, and Jhansi matched it with her sharp, reactive timing. She didn’t try to out-laugh him — she set him up for the punchline, like a straight woman who knows exactly when to break.
• On the sets of 'Yemaindi Ee Vela' (2010), Narayana and Jhansi had a running bet: whoever flubbed a dialogue first had to buy the other a plate of mirchi bajji from the canteen. Jhansi lost most days, but she never stopped ordering extra spicy ones for him.
• Jhansi once said in an interview: 'Narayana garu is the only co-star who can make me laugh even when the director is yelling at us. He’d whisper a joke between takes, and I’d have to turn my back to the camera so no one sees me smile.'
• Their pairing in 'Routine Love Story' (2012) was so well-received that the director, R. P. Patnaik, later cast them together again in a cameo for his next film — a rare instance where a side couple got a callback because audiences demanded more of their bickering.
