• Ali and Tagubothu Ramesh first shared screen in Rachcha (2012) because director Harish Shankar specifically wanted Ali's comic timing to bounce off Ramesh's deadpan reactions. Ramesh was a relative newcomer then, and Ali's presence gave the comedy scenes a veteran anchor.
• In Jaffa (2013), Ali played the fast-talking sidekick while Ramesh played the straight-faced foil. The comedy worked because Ramesh never tried to match Ali's energy — he let Ali run wild and just reacted, which made Ali's lines land harder.
