• Gulshan Grover and Ajay Kashyap first shared screen space in Mera Haque (1986) because the director needed a fresh villain duo. Grover was still building his 'bad man' image, and Kashyap was a newcomer. They were thrown together as the antagonist pair, and their contrasting styles — Grover's loud menace vs. Kashyap's cold smirk — clicked instantly.
• In Do Qaidi (1989), Grover and Kashyap played rival gangsters. The film's best scene has them circling each other in a warehouse — Grover kept improvising threats, and Kashyap responded by staying completely still, letting his eyes do the work.
