• E. V. V. Satyanarayana was an assistant director on Babu Mohan's first film as a lead. He saw Babu Mohan's comic timing on set and decided to cast him in his own directorial debut, Prema Khaidi (1990). That film put both of them on the map.
• On the sets of Appula Appa Rao (1991), Babu Mohan would rewrite his own lines on the spot. E. V. V. let him do it because he knew Babu Mohan's ear for village slang was sharper than his own. The result was a film that felt more like a live comedy show than a scripted movie.
• After Appula Appa Rao flopped, E. V. V. didn't call Babu Mohan for 16 years. Babu Mohan thought the director had written him off. Then in 2007, E. V. V. suddenly rang him up for Athili Sattibabu LKG — no apology, just a one-line offer: 'Come, I have a role that only you can do.'
• The success of Prema Khaidi (1990) directly led to E. V. V. Satyanarayana being trusted with bigger comedies. He went on to launch the career of comedian Ali in that same film — Ali was a child artist then. So Babu Mohan and E. V. V. together gave Telugu cinema one of its longest-running comic sidekicks.
• Babu Mohan once said in an interview: 'E. V. V. never gave me a bound script. He would just say the situation, and I would fill the blanks. That trust is why I gave my best for him.'
