• Zeenat Aman was the one who pushed for Shakti Kapoor to be cast in Qurbani (1980). She had seen his work in theatre and told Feroz Khan he'd be perfect for the role of her brother. Feroz wasn't convinced at first, but Zeenat insisted.
• In Mahaan (1983), Zeenat played a double role — and Shakti played her love interest in one of those tracks. The trick was that Shakti had to act opposite two completely different versions of Zeenat in the same scene. He later said she'd switch her energy so sharply between takes that he'd forget which Zeenat he was talking to.
• Their pairing in Qurbani (1980) directly led to the iconic song 'Aap Jaisa Koi' — Zeenat's character sings it for Shakti's character. That song became a defining moment for both their careers and is still one of the most-requested disco numbers at retro Bollywood nights.
• Shakti Kapoor has said in multiple interviews that Zeenat Aman was the only co-star who ever called him by his real name, Sunil, on set. Everyone else called him Shakti. She did it from day one of Qurbani and never stopped.
• Shakti Kapoor once said about Zeenat: 'She was the queen of the set, but she never made me feel like a servant. She treated me like an equal, even when I was nobody.'
• In Yeh Desh (1984), their only scene together is a confrontation where Zeenat slaps Shakti. She actually slapped him so hard that his earring flew off and hit the cameraman. The director kept the take because Shakti's shocked reaction was completely real.
