• Sripriya was just 16 when she first acted opposite Sivakumar in Padhaboojai (1974). He was already a star. She later admitted she was so nervous on the first day that she forgot her lines — and Sivakumar quietly fed her the dialogue from behind the camera until she found her rhythm.
• In Pattikkaattu Raja (1975), Sivakumar played a rugged village tough guy while Sripriya played a soft-spoken city girl. The director said the tension worked because Sivakumar deliberately underplayed his anger in every scene with her — he didn't want to scare her on screen. She matched that by overplaying her fear just a little. That push-pull became their signature.
• Their 1975 film Aanpillai Singam was the first Tamil movie to feature a female-led fight sequence where the heroine actually wins. Sripriya's character knocks out a thug with a single blow. That scene directly inspired the stunt choreography for the 1996 hit 'Kadhal Desam' — the director of that film has cited it in interviews.
• During the shoot of Thangathile Vairam (1975), Sripriya's mother fell seriously ill. Sivakumar quietly arranged for a car to take her to the hospital every evening after pack-up, and even paid for the first week of treatment. She never forgot it. Decades later, she called him 'the only co-star who treated me like family, not a colleague.'
• 'He never once made me feel like a newcomer. On the set of Attukara Alamelu (1977), he would rehearse with me for 20 minutes before every take — even if the director said we were ready. That's why I never felt scared acting with him.' — Sripriya, in a 2018 interview with The Hindu.
• In Avan Aval Adhu (1980), their last film together, Sivakumar played a mute character for the first time. Sripriya had to carry all the dialogue. She later said that Sivakumar insisted on rehearsing the entire film in sign language with her off-camera — so she could react to his gestures naturally, not to a script supervisor's cue. That film is still studied in Tamil acting workshops for its non-verbal chemistry.
