• Sripriya was already a star when Muthuraman cast her in 'Aanpillai Singam' (1975). But she almost said no — she thought the title sounded too masculine. Muthuraman convinced her by narrating the full script in one sitting at her home.
• Muthuraman gave Sripriya her most layered role in 'Enakkul Oruvan' (1984). He deliberately shot her scenes in long, unbroken takes — forcing her to shift between three distinct personalities without cuts. She later said that film made her a better actor.
• Their 1977 film 'Aadu Puli Attam' directly inspired the 1980 Telugu blockbuster 'Sardar Papa Rayudu'. The producer saw the Tamil original in a single-screen theatre in Chennai and bought the remake rights the next morning.
• On the sets of 'Mogam Muppadhu Varusham' (1976), Sripriya and Muthuraman had a running bet: whoever flubbed a line first had to buy filter coffee for the entire crew. Muthuraman lost every single day. He later joked she had a photographic memory for dialogue.
• Sripriya once said in a 1985 interview: 'Muthuraman sir never shouted at me. He would just go quiet and rewrite the scene on set. That silence was worse than any yelling — it made me work twice as hard.'
