• Venniradai Moorthy and Pandu first shared screen space in 'Nadigan' (1990) because director P. Vasu specifically wanted two actors who could play off each other's deadpan timing — he cast them as a pair without ever seeing them act together before.
• In 'Purushan Pondatti' (1996), Moorthy would deliberately flub his lines to make Pandu break character mid-scene — and Pandu would retaliate by adding random Tamil proverbs into his dialogue, forcing Moorthy to improvise his reactions on the spot.
• During the shoot of 'Kaalamellam Kadhal Vaazhga' (1997), both actors realized the script was a disaster. They secretly rewrote their own scenes together in the hotel lobby every night, without telling the director — the film still bombed at 3.8/10.
