• Visu cast Reka in 'Kavalan Avan Kovalan' (1987) after being impressed by her work in a stage play — he later said she had the exact 'innocent but sharp' quality his script needed.
• On the sets of 'Varavu Nalla Uravu' (1990), Visu would rewrite Reka's lines in the morning based on how she delivered them the previous day — he trusted her comic timing more than his own writing.
• Reka once said Visu was the only director who let her improvise entire scenes without a single retake — she called him 'the most relaxed man on a set'.
• The success of 'Kavalan Avan Kovalan' (1987) directly led to Visu casting Reka again — and that second film, 'Varavu Nalla Uravu', became a template for Tamil family comedies in the early 90s.
