• Sakthi Chidambaram cast Pandu in 'Ennamma Kannu' (2000) after seeing him in a stage play. Pandu was a theatre actor with zero film experience at that point. Sakthi took a risk on him because he needed someone who could do physical comedy without dialogue.
• On the sets of 'Charlie Chaplin' (2002), Sakthi would give Pandu only a one-line scene description and let him improvise the rest. Pandu's timing was so sharp that Sakthi kept the first take in the final cut for most scenes.
• After 'Charlie Chaplin' wrapped, Sakthi and Pandu stayed in touch by phone but never met socially. Pandu later said in an interview that Sakthi was 'a director who only calls when he has a script ready' — no small talk, just work.
• The slapstick style they built together in 'Ennamma Kannu' directly influenced a wave of low-budget comedy films in early 2000s Tamil cinema. At least three later directors cited that film as the reason they started making comedies.
• In 'Jeyikkira Kuthira' (2017), Sakthi deliberately wrote a scene where Pandu had to react without any dialogue for three full minutes. Pandu later admitted he was terrified, but Sakthi insisted — and that scene became the film's most talked-about moment.
