Trivia

  • The film's title was inspired by Prabhu Deva's comedic and physical acting style, which reminded the director of the silent film legend.
  • This was one of the few films where veteran actor Prabhu Ganesan and his nephew Prabhu Deva shared significant screen time.
  • Director Sakthi Chidambaram is known for comedy, and this film marked a reunion with Prabhu Deva after their earlier hit 'Kaadhalukku Mariyadhai'.
  • The movie's soundtrack by Deva included a popular remix of the classic Ilaiyaraaja song 'Pottu Vaitha', which became a hit.
  • Despite the star cast, the film had a moderate box office run and is less remembered compared to the lead actors' other works from that era.
  • Actress Abhirami, who played a lead role, was also a prominent television anchor and VJ during that period.
  • The plot involved mistaken identity and twin brothers, a common trope in Tamil cinema, but was tailored for Prabhu Deva's dance and comedy strengths.
