• Sridevi was just 6 years old when she first acted opposite R. S. Manohar in 'Nam Naadu' (1969). He was already a towering villain in Tamil cinema. She played a child role in the film, and he reportedly told the director, 'This girl has fire — keep her in the frame with me.'
• In 'Sankarlal' (1981), Manohar played the menacing antagonist while Sridevi was the leading lady. Their scenes together crackled because Manohar deliberately slowed his dialogue delivery — he knew Sridevi could match his intensity with just her eyes. He later said, 'She didn't need words to fight me. Her silence was louder.'
• Manohar treated young Sridevi like a daughter on the sets of 'Nam Naadu'.
