• They first paired up in Heera-Moti (1979) because the director, Sultan Ahmed, thought their contrasting energies — Danny's brooding stillness vs Reena's fiery spontaneity — would create a unique tension on screen. He was right.
• In Kachche Heere (1982), Danny deliberately slowed down his dialogue delivery to match Reena's rhythm, letting her take the lead in emotional scenes. She later said he 'gave her the space to breathe' in their confrontations.
• During the shoot of Do Ustad (1982), Danny and Reena developed a running joke where they'd bet chai on who could finish their lines first without a retake. Danny lost most bets — he admitted he'd deliberately flub to keep the game going.
