• Rishi Kapoor personally recommended Ramesh Talwar to direct Duniya (1984) after Talwar had spent years as an assistant director. Talwar had never directed a film before, but Rishi trusted him from their earlier work together on Doosra Aadmi (1977).
• On the sets of Zamana (1985), Rishi would rewrite his own lines the night before shooting. Talwar let him do it — he said Rishi’s instinct for dialogue rhythm was sharper than any writer’s. The result was a looser, more natural performance than Rishi gave in more rigidly directed films.
• Rishi and Talwar stayed close even after their films flopped. When Talwar’s wife passed away in the early 2000s, Rishi was the first person at his house — and he quietly paid for the funeral without telling anyone.
• "Ramesh never shouted on set. He’d just look at me with those sad eyes, and I’d feel guilty enough to do the scene right." — Rishi Kapoor, in a 2012 interview with Filmfare.
• Sahibaan (1993) was the only film where Rishi and Talwar worked with a then-unknown Madhuri Dixit. The film didn’t click, but Talwar later said that watching Madhuri on set convinced him she was a future superstar — he told Rishi, "She’s going to be bigger than both of us."
