• Soori and Yogi Babu first shared screen space in Sakalakala Vallavan (2015) because director P. S. Mithran needed two distinct comic foils for Jayam Ravi. Soori was already a known face; Yogi Babu was still a struggling bit player. Soori reportedly told the director, 'This guy is funnier than me — give him more lines.' That film became Yogi Babu's first proper break in a mainstream comedy role.
• In Billa Pandi (2018), Soori played the loud, impulsive sidekick while Yogi Babu played the deadpan, reluctant one. The comedy came from Soori setting up a chaotic situation and Yogi Babu reacting with a single, perfectly timed expression. Yogi Babu later said in an interview that Soori would deliberately overact in the first take so Yogi Babu could underplay his response — they built the rhythm together on set.
• Their double-act in Kanchana 3 (2019) was so popular that the film's comedy track was extended in the final cut by 12 minutes — something almost unheard of for a horror-comedy. That extended track directly inspired director R. Saravanan to write a full-length comedy-horror script for the pair, which eventually became Kombu Vatcha Singamda (2022). Without Kanchana 3's audience reaction, that film wouldn't exist.
• On the sets of Namma Veettu Pillai (2019), Soori and Yogi Babu shared a single makeup van — not because of budget, but because Soori insisted. He told the production team, 'We do the same scenes, we should prep together.' They would rehearse their lines in the van while the crew set up lights. Yogi Babu later said that habit taught him how to time a punchline.
• Yogi Babu once said about Soori: 'He doesn't treat me like a co-actor. He treats me like a younger brother who needs to be pushed. In Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen (2017), I was nervous about a long monologue. Soori sat with me for two hours, feeding me the lines one by one until I got the rhythm. That scene is still my favourite.'
• In Kombu Vatcha Singamda (2022), Soori and Yogi Babu swapped their usual roles: Soori played the quieter, more sensible friend while Yogi Babu played the hyperactive one. The director said they switched because both actors wanted to challenge themselves. The result was a film where their chemistry felt fresh — audiences didn't even realise the swap until halfway through.
