• Shakti (1982) was supposed to be a Dilip Kumar-Amitabh Bachchan film. Anil Kapoor only got the role of the younger Amitabh because the original actor dropped out. He was 23 and terrified of sharing screen with both legends.
• In Shakti, Amitabh played the angry son. Anil played the younger version of that same character. They never shared a single scene together in the film — but Anil had to study Amitabh's mannerisms frame by frame to make the flashback match. That's how they 'worked together' without being in the same room.
• After Shakti, Amitabh personally recommended Anil for a role in Yash Chopra's Mashaal (1984). Anil has said in interviews that Big B's word opened doors for him in the industry when he was still a nobody.
• Anil Kapoor once said: 'Working with Mr. Bachchan in Shakti was like being in a school where the teacher doesn't teach you — you just watch and learn.' He said this in a 2017 interview promoting Aankhen 2.
• Aankhen 2 (2017) was supposed to be their big comeback together — a sequel to the 2002 hit Aankhen. But the film got shelved after a few days of shooting. It never released. So their last completed film together remains Darna Zaroori Hai (2006), a horror anthology where they appeared in separate segments.
