• Their first film together, Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya (2002), was originally offered to Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor. When that fell through, the director brought in Akshay and Abhishek as a last-minute replacement pair — and they shot the entire film in just 45 days.
• In Delhi-6 (2009), Abhishek played the quiet, conflicted Roshan while Akshay played the loud, street-smart goon. The director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra said he deliberately cast them against their usual types — Abhishek had to hold back his energy, Akshay had to dial his up — and the tension between their performances made the film's central conflict work.
• Housefull 4 (2019) was the only one of their four films to become a commercial hit. Its success directly led to the greenlighting of Housefull 5 — which Akshay is headlining solo, without Abhishek. So their last collaboration together accidentally launched a franchise that now moves forward without him.
• Despite making four films together over 17 years, Akshay and Abhishek have never been spotted hanging out socially. No joint interviews, no Instagram posts, no public friendship. A crew member from Housefull 3 said they were 'professional but distant' on set — they'd rehearse their scenes, then go to separate vans.
• Abhishek once said in an interview: 'Akshay is the most disciplined actor I've worked with. He'd finish his shot and then sit in his van reading scripts. I don't think we ever had a meal together.'
