• Saif and Dia first met on the set of 'Kurbaan' (1991) when she was just 9 years old — she played a younger version of his character's love interest. He was 21 and had no idea that a decade later, she'd be his leading lady.
• In 'Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein' (2001), Saif deliberately slowed down his usual fast-talking delivery in every scene with Dia. He later said he did it because her natural stillness forced him to pause — making their romantic moments feel more real.
• During the shoot of 'Parineeta' (2005), Dia would bring Saif homemade Bengali sweets every morning because his character was supposed to love them. She learned the recipes from her mother-in-law specifically for him.
• Dia Mirza said about Saif in 2005: 'He taught me how to be fearless in front of the camera. In 'Parineeta', I was terrified of the dance sequence. He just grabbed my hand and said, 'If I fall, you fall. Let's fall together.'
• The success of 'Parineeta' (2005) directly led to Vidya Balan being cast as the female lead in 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai' (2006). Director Rajkumar Hirani saw her screen test for Parineeta — which she lost to Dia — and decided she was perfect for his film.
