• Harry Baweja once said in an interview: 'Ajay doesn't act. He becomes. On Dilwale, I'd just point the camera and let him go. He never needed a second take.'
• Ajay Devgn was still a newcomer when Harry Baweja cast him in Dilwale (1994). Baweja had to fight producers who wanted a bigger star. He bet the film on Ajay's intensity.
• On the set of Diljale (1996), Baweja realized Ajay could do action without a stunt double. So he started writing longer, more dangerous fight sequences just for him. Ajay never complained.
• After Deewane (2000) flopped hard, Baweja called Ajay and said, 'I owe you a hit.' Ajay replied, 'You owe me nothing. Let's just make a better film.' That became Qayamat (2003).
• Qayamat: City Under Threat (2003) was one of the first Hindi films to use a 'countdown bomb' climax. Every action thriller that copied that template in the next five years owes a nod to this Ajay-Baweja combo.
• In Main Aisa Hi Hoon (2005), Baweja deliberately cast Ajay against type — as a mentally challenged single father. Ajay pushed back, saying it was too risky. Baweja insisted, and Ajay trusted him. The performance remains one of his most underrated.
