• Senthil and Prashanth first shared screen in 'Hello' (1999) only because the director, Selva, was desperate. He had already shot with another actor for Prashanth's role, but that actor walked out mid-shoot. Selva called Prashanth as a last-minute replacement, and Senthil was already locked in as the lead. The film tanked, but Selva didn't give up on the pair — he cast them again in 'Piriyadha Varam Vendum' (2001), which became their biggest hit together.
• In 'Piriyadha Varam Vendum' (2001), Senthil played the loud, impulsive friend while Prashanth was the brooding, silent lover. The trick that made it work: Senthil deliberately over-delivered his lines in every rehearsal, forcing Prashanth to react with genuine irritation on camera.
