
Jeans(1998)
Jeans is a 1998 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film directed by S. Shankar. It stars Prashanth in a dual role as identical twin brothers Viswanathan and Ramamoorthy, alongside Aishwarya Rai as Madhumitha. The story follows a young woman who pretends to have an identical twin sister to win over her lover's father, who insists his twin sons marry twin girls. The film was the most expensive Indian production at the time, with a budget of ₹20 crore. It won the National Film Award for Best Special Effects and was India's official submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. The soundtrack, composed by A. R. Rahman, became a major hit. Jeans was released on 24 April 1998 and completed 100 days in theatres.

Storyline
Visu and Ramu are identical twin brothers living in Los Angeles. Visu falls in love with Madhu, but their father Nachiappan refuses to let them marry because Madhu is not a twin. To win his approval, Madhu pretends to have a twin sister named Vaishnavi. The lie spirals out of control when Ramu falls in love with the fake twin.
