Trivia

  • The film's title translates to 'The Wish That Should Not Be Asked', hinting at the unspoken love between the main characters.
  • This was one of the few films where actor Prashanth and actress Shalini were paired together after their earlier successful collaboration in 'Kadhal Desam'.
  • Director 'Kamal' is not the famous actor, but a different filmmaker who also directed the hit movie 'Ghilli'.
  • The song 'Kadhal Vandhale' was filmed in Bangkok, a relatively exotic location for Tamil films at that time.
  • Actress Jomol, who played Sneha, was primarily known as a Malayalam actress and this was one of her notable Tamil roles.
  • The film's plot of childhood friends realizing their love later is a common theme, but it released during a wave of similar friendship-based love stories in early 2000s Tamil cinema.
  • Composer Vidyasagar's soundtrack for the film, especially the song 'Oru Vetkam Varudhe', remains popular for its melody.
