• Senthil was a popular comedian when he was paired with newcomer Nadhiya in 'Uyire Unakkaga' (1986). The director, K. Rangaraj, took a risk casting a comedian as the romantic lead opposite a fresh face — and it worked so well they made three more films together.
• In 'Mandhira Punnagai' (1986), Senthil’s comic timing let Nadhiya play the straight woman — she reacted with wide-eyed disbelief while he delivered punchlines. That contrast became their signature: he set the pace, she anchored the scene.
• Their only critically respected film together, 'Irandil Ondru' (1988), was a thriller where Nadhiya played a woman trapped in a marriage with a psychopath. The film’s tense domestic horror later influenced director Mysskin’s 'Anjathe' (2008) — he cited it as a template for marital dread on screen.
