• B.R. Chopra cast Raj Babbar in Insaf Ka Tarazu (1980) after seeing him in a small role in a different film. Babbar was still a newcomer, and Chopra took a risk giving him a lead part opposite Zeenat Aman.
• In Nikaah (1982), Chopra deliberately cast Babbar as the possessive, traditional husband to create a sharp contrast with the progressive hero played by Deepak Parashar. Babbar's raw intensity made the character's transformation believable.
• Raj Babbar has said in interviews that B.R. Chopra treated him like a son on set. After Nikaah became a hit, Chopra personally advised Babbar on which roles to accept and which to reject — a rare gesture from a producer-director to an actor.
• Nikaah (1982) directly inspired a wave of films in the 1980s that dealt with Muslim personal law and triple talaq. It was one of the first mainstream Hindi films to put that debate in front of a mass audience.
• Raj Babbar once said about B.R. Chopra: 'He didn't just direct me — he taught me how to hold a pause. In Nikaah, the silence before my outburst was his instruction.'
• For Kal Ki Awaz (1992), Chopra asked Babbar to underplay every scene — the opposite of his usual style. Babbar later admitted that this was the hardest film of their collaboration because he had to fight his own instincts.
