• Rajendran and Swaminathan first teamed up in Palakkattu Madhavan (2015) because the director needed two actors who could pull off deadpan comedy without cracking a smile. Swaminathan was a last-minute replacement after the original actor walked out over payment.
• In Enakku Innoru Per Irukku (2016), Rajendran would deliberately flub his lines to make Swaminathan break character. Swaminathan later admitted he had to look down at the floor during their scenes to keep from laughing.
• A1 (2019) was a surprise hit largely because of their bickering chemistry. It directly inspired a wave of buddy-comedy films in Tamil cinema over the next two years, including the 2021 film 'Murungakkai Chips' that copied their exact banter style.
• During the shoot of Rajavum 5 Koojavum (2022), Rajendran and Swaminathan shared the same vanity van because the production couldn't afford two. They ended up writing half their own dialogues together in that van at night.
• Swaminathan said in a 2022 interview: 'Rajendran is the only actor who can make me forget my lines. He doesn't act — he just reacts, and I have to keep up like a fool.'
• In Varalaru Mukkiyam (2022), Rajendran insisted on doing every take in one shot because he knew Swaminathan's timing got sharper under pressure. The director later said their scenes were the only ones that didn't need retakes.
