Trivia
- The film's title was inspired by a real-life youth association in director Ponram's hometown, which also aimed to help people in need.
- Sivakarthikeyan's character Bose Pandi was named after a popular local snack, 'Bose', which is a type of savory puff pastry.
- The village name 'Silukkuvarpatti' is fictional, but it humorously suggests a place where people are clever or sly ('silukku' means sharp/witty in Tamil).
- Comedian Soori's role as Bose's loyal friend was initially smaller, but his scenes were increased due to positive feedback during shooting.
- The song 'Kannala Kannala' was shot in Thailand, marking one of the few foreign location sequences in a rural Tamil comedy at that time.
- Director Ponram worked as an assistant director for over a decade before making his directorial debut with this film.
- The movie was a major commercial success, running for over 100 days in many theaters and boosting Sivakarthikeyan's career as a lead actor.
