Maharathi(2008)
Maharathi is a 2008 Hindi-language thriller film directed by Shivam Nair. The cast includes Paresh Rawal, Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Boman Irani, Neha Dhupia, and Tara Sharma. The story follows Subhash Sharma, a failed actor turned chauffeur, who conspires with his employer's wife to claim a life insurance policy after the man's sudden death. The plot unfolds inside a decaying mansion where every character hides a secret. The film is adapted from a Gujarati stage play, which itself was based on James Hadley Chase's novel 'There's Always a Price Tag'. Maharathi received positive reviews for its strong performances and clever storytelling. It was released in India on December 5, 2008.

Storyline

He partners with the dead man's wife to fake a natural death and claim a large insurance payout. But a suspicious insurance investigator and a honest police officer start asking dangerous questions.
