Trivia
- The film was originally planned to be a sequel to the 1959 classic 'Anari' starring Raj Kapoor, but the final story had no connection to it.
- This was one of the few films where Govinda played a double role without the characters being related, like twins or brothers.
- Actress Simran, who played a key role, was primarily a South Indian star; this was one of her early notable appearances in Hindi cinema.
- The song 'Mujhe Pyaar Hua' was filmed in Thailand, a popular location for Bollywood shoots in the late 1990s.
- Director Sandesh Kohli was better known as a cinematographer; this was one of his rare directorial ventures.
- The film's comedy relied heavily on the popular mistaken-identity trope of the era, similar to Govinda's earlier hit 'Haseena Maan Jaayegi'.
- Despite starring popular stars, the film did not perform well at the box office and is considered a minor film in Govinda's filmography.
