Yugpurush(1998)
Yugpurush is a 1998 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Partho Ghosh and produced by Vijay Mehta. The cast includes Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Manisha Koirala, Mohnish Bahl, and Ashwini Bhave. The story follows Anirudh, a man released from a mental health facility after 25 years, who navigates a hypocritical society with radical honesty. He forms a bond with Sunita, an escort, and clashes with Ranjan, a politician's son. The film is an adaptation of Dostoyevsky's novel The Idiot and the 1969 Bengali film Aparichita. It explores themes of truth, love, and societal judgment. Yugpurush was a commercial failure upon its theatrical release on 27 March 1998.

Storyline
Anirudh is released from a mental facility after 25 years. He is honest and kind, but the world calls him mad. He meets Sunita, a sad escort, and Ranjan, a rich man's son. Ranjan loves Sunita, but she loves Anirudh. Ranjan's ego and lies threaten to destroy them all.
