Trivia

  • The film was originally titled 'Rajkumar Aur Rajkumari' but was shortened to just 'Rajkumar' before release.
  • Naseeruddin Shah played dual roles, but his character Surjan Singh was originally written as a cameo that was later expanded.
  • The song 'Kehti Hai Yeh Zindagi' was shot in a single continuous take, a rare technique for a 90s Bollywood dance number.
  • Director Pankaj Parashar also composed the film's background score, which was unusual for a mainstream Hindi director at the time.
  • The film's climax was partially inspired by the Hollywood film 'The Man in the Iron Mask', featuring the twin brother theme.

  • Anil Kapoor performed his own stunts for the sword-fighting sequences without using a body double.
