Coolie No. 1(1995)
Coolie No. 1 is a 1995 Indian Hindi-language comedy masala film directed by David Dhawan and written by Rumi Jaffery and Kader Khan. The film stars Govinda, Karisma Kapoor, Kader Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Harish Kumar, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, and Mahesh Anand, with music composed by Anand–Milind. The story follows Raju, a bus-stand porter who poses as a wealthy Singaporean prince to marry Malti, the daughter of a rich and arrogant businessman. The plot thickens when the father discovers the truth, leading to a series of comedic and chaotic events involving mistaken identities and a villainous drug dealer. The film is a remake of the Tamil film Chinna Mapillai (1993) and is known for its slapstick humor, energetic performances, and popular soundtrack. Govinda received the Star Screen Award Special Jury Award for his role. Over time, Coolie No. 1 has become a cult classic and is regarded as one of the greatest Indian comedy films. The film was remade in 2020 with Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan, directed again by David Dhawan, and released on Amazon Prime Video.

Storyline
A poor but cheerful coolie named Raju falls in love with Malti, the daughter of a wealthy and arrogant man. With the help of a marriage broker, Raju pretends to be a rich prince from Singapore to win her hand. But when the truth comes out, Raju must prove his love and save the day.
